Peculiar and eccentric, yes, but also helpful, smart and kind. My wife asked John Ireland, who had done two films with her if he had read Mommie Dearest. His answer: 'Yes, and that was not the person he knew." Robert Bloch did a film with her for Bill Castle, and he was also
kind. His book, Once Around the Bloch is a lot of fun.barrylanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09507827607600595861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4797087968104121636.post-59838606831569509622018-07-18T12:58:06.915-07:002018-07-18T12:58:06.915-07:00Sorry for the late reply. That sounds awfulI.

I know the movie was loosely based on Bugsy Siegel and Hill.
It's interesting that you say no one other than Christina spoke badly about Crawford. I'm no expert on her life, but from what I can read, it seemed more the opposite. With everything that is written about actors, it's sometimes hard to know what is right or wrong. It's like with the Fontaine/de Havilland feud. Trying to unravel what really happened would probably take a lifetime.Margot Shelbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06580855468061590981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4797087968104121636.post-31323717376681386962018-07-07T19:35:20.660-07:002018-07-07T19:35:20.660-07:00This film is about Virginia Hill, still alive at t...This film is about Virginia Hill, still alive at the time of production and so things had to fictionalized, although Cochran, practically a dead ringer for Bugsy Siegel, who had been murdered in more or less the manner depicted, comes really close. Kent Smith's character is based on a gay, Jewish accountant, so no shoot out. That is the studio, not Crawford. The film is close to me because it was the last film I ran for my wife prior to her death. The picture was over at 8:00 00PM and at 8:07, with a sharp intake of breath she was gone. No one, other than Christina, speaks badly about her. Check it out. Cast and crew loved her. Now I do not mean bad things weren't and have not been written, but not by anyone who worked in the movies. barrylanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09507827607600595861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4797087968104121636.post-52393843912137002102018-01-29T16:37:44.341-08:002018-01-29T16:37:44.341-08:00great review!great review!cigar joehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10247683034889027958noreply@blogger.com
