A good one, though, not a tacked-on-at-the-last-minute one. I don't like the movie version of Breakfast at Tiffany's at all because the ending feels phony.Hamlette (Rachel)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11961916847426233995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4797087968104121636.post-87790125472240981822018-09-08T09:50:48.042-07:002018-09-08T09:50:48.042-07:00I probably watch way too many Noirs - or Gangster ...I probably watch way too many Noirs - or Gangster movies - with depressing endings, somehow I guess I'm drawn to them. With so many Noirs a happy ending feels tacked on. I wrote about Tomorrow is Another Day which must have the worst tacked-on happy ending ever. However, here in Fallen Angel it works, but then it works as part of the storyline, not against it.Margot Shelbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06580855468061590981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4797087968104121636.post-11241363731208847352018-09-08T07:38:19.713-07:002018-09-08T07:38:19.713-07:00I must admit that, much as I love noir... I love happy endings more, so almost all my favorite noir films are the ones with happy endings. Laura, The Blue Dahlia, Swamp Water, To Have and Have Not, Dead Again, L.A. Confidential -- I love that happy ending! I do love some without happy endings too, like This Gun for Hire and Road to Perdition and The Maltese Falcon, but I've never felt like something had to end bleakly for it to be noir.

Anyway, great write-up of this lovely Dana Andrews film!
